Our Collective Impact

With a presence in more than 170 countries, the Hilton Prize Coalition is well positioned to explore and evaluate new ways of designing, organizing and implementing high impact initiatives, leveraging a rich base of talent, assets, experience and insight from its growing membership, as a new Hilton Humanitarian Prize winner is named each year. Through collaboration and innovation, the Coalition intends to provide a best practice example of how complex collaboration can be forged and focused into meaningful collective impact, as each Coalition member is able to achieve more together than it could individually.

Issues and Impact

The Hilton Prize Coalition’s projects span a number of impact areas including education, medical research, public health, disaster relief, and youth development with global programs. Programs are specific to Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. Accomplishments include:

  • Bi-lateral relationships such as the Amref Health Africa and Tostan fistula project funded by UNFPA
  • In-country programs such as the Operation Smile and PATH nutritional assessment effort in India
  • Guidance for global standards in Good Practices for Nonprofits in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • An extensive interactive mapping of multi-partner efforts in Senegal and Haiti
  • Establishment of an Executive Committee to guide the ongoing operations of the Coalition members and its two working groups: Disaster Relief and the Hilton Prize Coalition Fellowship Program

Perhaps the most critical success and need for the Coalition is the ongoing networking, transparent dialogue and relationships that strengthen each Coalition member, allowing them to carry on their work to improve lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people throughout the world.
